One of the most important things that can be done for osteoporosis prevention is to get regular exercise. Weight bearing exercise that involves some kind of strength training or weight lifting is very necessary for preventing osteoporosis. This does not necessarily have to be extremely intense nor does it have to be to build muscle, but some kind of weight lifting is beneficial for strengthening bones and increasing bone density.
Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol
Of course smoking is always something that diminishes health, as does excessive alcohol. These two activities are both extremely harmful and they can both lead to diminished bone density, which in turn leads to osteoporosis. Therefore, avoiding these detrimental activities can lead to healthier bones and lesser risk for osteoporosis.
Visit your doctor or chiropractor
Visiting your chiropractors is a great way to have regular checks to determine whether or not you are suffering from diminished bone density.
Take your doctors advice
If your chiropractor advises that you take some sort of over the counter or prescription you should take his or her advise on what medications you should take.
