Joint Degeneration

Joint degeneration occurs through the passage of time, but there are some things that can be done to minimize the damage.  The joints of the body are subject to an erratic blood supply and can be very sensitive to poor nutritional choices.  No only does a bad diet increase blood pressure and heart disease, but it may also lead to increased joint degeneration.

Fibromyalgia: Symptoms And Treatment

Fibromyalgia is a muscular pain syndrome that can be extremely hard to diagnose.  It is most common among middle-aged women, but can affect anyone, regardless of gender or age.  The patient will usually have general muscle pain and back pain and an overall feeling of being fatigued or tired.  Their neurological exam will typically come back with a normal result, making it difficult to identify fibromyalgia as the source of the problems.

Automobile Accident Injuries

Automobile accident injury is the most common cause of major trauma and hospital visits.  Injuries incurred in vehicular crashes are generally severe and can be life-altering or even fatal.  Back and neck strains are the most typical injuries received, with broken and lacerated extremities being the next most likely.  This is a guide to some of the basic injuries found after an automobile accident.

Osteoporosis Treatment

Osteoporosis begins when bones lose mineral content such as calcium as well as other vital nutrients. The bone mass as a result is lessened and bones become brittle and easily broken. The disease is usually discovered when the person breaks a bone. Broken arms and legs, while serious, aren’t as severe as when bones such as the hip and spine are broken. These will also lead to a lengthy hospital stay, permanent disability, and possibly death. The disease mostly afflicts the elderly and women who have passed menopause.

Arthritis Osteoporosis

Arthritis/osteoporosis are two common diseases which primarily affect older persons. They both have things in common, such as affecting the joints and skeletal system and both can lead to disability if left untreated. There are fundamental differences of each, however, and it is important that you don’t think they are the same thing. Even so, arthritis/osteoporosis are both dangerous and you should learn about each of them, especially if you are getting older. Research has shown that the majority of men and women do not fully understand the differences.

Arthritis Osteoarthritis

Arthritis/Osteoarthritis is also known as degenerative joint disease. It is a progressive disorder made worse over time as cartilage is lost and bony spurs and cysts develop on the joints. It is one of the most common disabilities, especially in people over 50. While only five per cent of the US population has the problem, over 30 per cent of those over the age of 45 suffer from arthritis/osteoarthritis. It usually appears at the age of 40 and gets increasingly worse as the person ages.

Osteoarthritis Treatment

Finding out you have osteoarthritis can be a life-changing event. Everyone assumes that it comes naturally with age, but when they begin to experience it and how it puts such constraints on their lives they can get discouraged. The fact that there is no cure for the disease makes the scenario look even bleaker. Even so, there are osteoarthritis treatments available to treat the condition that may at least make you feel better and can even make the degenerative process go slower. You may even find that you can reverse some of the damage done.

Scoliosis Physical Therapy

There is a big argument in the medical community over whether or not alternative methods such as physical therapy and chiropractic can help cure scoliosis. Most medical doctors today claim that exercise and physical therapy can not help cure scoliosis in any way. This wasn’t always the case though as the medical establishment did not always feel this way. There are many books and programs available that teach homeopathic methods of curing scoliosis or preventing it from worsening. One such method is scoliosis physical therapy.  There is also trigger point therapy and yoga.

Scoliosis Pediatric

Scoliosis Pediatric is a curvature of the spine which is quite rare and has no known cause in most cases. It is most often found in children and adolescents ages 10 through 14. The condition can be congenital or may be the result of neuromuscular conditions such as cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy. Only about 10 per cent of scoliosis children require any form of treatment such as having to wear a brace or receive surgery. The result of this condition is a deformed body which makes breathing difficult and complicates normal heart function.

Treatment for Scoliosis

Scoliosis is also known as curvature of the spine. There is really no known cause of most cases; a few occur due to a congenital defect. Currently only two per cent of women are afflicted and half a percent of men. Treatment for scoliosis comes in many forms. These include: exercise, chiropractic manipulation, nutrition, and medication. There currently is not much evidence that these are an efficient treatment of scoliosis, but there are many people who claim that holistic scoliosis treatment has helped them. They can’t hurt and will produce other benefits as well.
