The chiropractic field used to be predominantly male, but lately by and large it is becoming a 50/50 split between men and women. The field is great for busy women as being an independent contractor will allow you to set your own hours. Female chiropractors who work in a group practice however, will find it more difficult to juggle their personal and private life as they will be called on by their associates when duty calls. Women can perform the duties required in the chiropractic profession to the same ability as their male contemporaries.

Women chiropractors are great for many reasons. Many patients will actually prefer to see female chiropractors because they believe they will have a more gentle touch and may be afraid that males may be too forceful. Although this is not always the case as there are both gentle male chiropractors and forceful women chiropractors, it still provides patients with a piece of mind. Children may also be more comfortable around female chiropractors as opposed to males. Older people who have brittle bones often share this sentiment as well. It should also go without saying that often women feel better going to women chiropractors because they feel more comfortable around them and can explain health issues in detail that they may otherwise feel shy about admitting to a male doctor.

Women chiropractors are also in high demand in foreign countries such as Saudi Arabia. If you are interested in traveling the world and setting up your practice overseas, you will have no problem doing it if you are a female chiropractor. Women in these other countries, just like in America, desire to be seen by female doctors for all of the same reasons. In these foreign countries, women have not had the same opportunities as they have in America and therefore it is not as easy for them to become doctors as it is in America. Because of this, it can be very difficult for a woman in a foreign country to be seen by a doctor who is female. Hospitals in these countries are paying fairly large salaries as a result in order to entice female doctors and chiropractors to join their staff. It may even be a great opportunity to women who have incurred high student loans and would like to pay them off sooner. Adjusting to the different culture can be difficult however, and it is something that is certainly not recommended for everyone.
