There are many people who experience chronic pain on a daily basis. A great number of these people don’t want to take drugs for their pain because of the way that drugs make them feel. Some people can’t take drugs for pain because of other issues, like sensitive stomachs, for example. There is another option—natural pain relief from chiropractic care.

Chiropractic care uses absolutely no drugs—ever. Diagnosis and treatment is done completely naturally, without subjecting the patient to any type of drugs. In addition, if it is determined at some point that a patient must have a pain-relieving drug or some other type of drug for some reason; the chiropractor will refer that patient to another doctor. Chiropractors simply do not work with pharmaceuticals at all—every treatment and procedure they do is natural.

Natural Treatments

Chiropractic doctors use hands-on spinal adjustment techniques and manipulations in order to relieve the pain that their patients are experiencing. There are dozens of different types of these manipulations, all of which can offer all natural pain relief to patients.

Typically, after diagnosing a patient’s exact problem, a chiropractor will have the patient lay on the examination table face down. The patient must relax in order for the procedure to work successfully. When the patient is relaxed, the chiropractor will perform the treatment. Many of the treatments involve performing a quick thrust-like movement directed at a specific vertebra in the spine.

This all natural pain relief method works because it realigns the spine. Realigning the spine serves to make ample room for the nerves in the spinal column; therefore, none are pinched. No pinched nerves in the spinal column means there isn't any pain.

Another natural pain relief method commonly used among chiropractors is acupuncture. Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years as a method of relieving pain, and a great number of chiropractors believe in its abilities. Acupuncture involves no drugs; therefore, it, too, is a natural pain relief.

Holistic Health Care

Many chiropractors offer a holistic approach to health care. This means that they try to improve a patient’s general health and well-being through the use of good diet, exercise, and lifestyle counseling. They believe that preventative health care can help with pain relief—sometimes even providing vertebral adjustments to patients as preventative measures. This, in conjunction with the natural pain relief that chiropractic doctors provide, makes chiropractors popular among people interested in forms of alternative medicine.
