Woman Unable to Close Eyes after Neck Lift Procedure
Wednesday April 1, 2009
Though plastic surgeon Isolde Hertess claimed on her web site that she had over 18 years of professional experience, her patient Deanne Harris should have done further research. A procedure that should have removed excess skin from Harris’ neck left her unable to completely close her eyes, because too much skin had been removed during the operation. Now the woman must hold her eyes closed any time that she takes a shower or goes swimming. She also is not able to close her eyes when she sleeps, and describes the pain that she must endure as “torture.”
Every day, women hear horror stories about plastic surgeries gone wrong. Though this is true and often a careless surgeon will cause irreversible damage, thousands of cosmetic procedures are performed successfully each day. The way to find a good surgeon is with a great deal of research. First, a potential patient should sit down with his or her surgeon and conduct, in essence, an interview. Reviews from former patients can also be helpful, but must be taken with a grain of salt. Talk to your local plastic surgeon today to find out more!
